Summer and Autumn news
August 15th started the third and final edition of Ruhrtriennale - International Festival of the Arts under the artistic direction of Heiner Goebbels with a succesful series of Louis Andriessen: De Materie, directed by Heiner Goebbels - this year the Ruhrtriennale will last until September 28th - presenting new productions by Romeo Castellucci, Boris Charmatz, Saburo Teshigawara, Anne Teresa de Keersmaker, Mathilde Monnier, Lemi Ponifasio, La Ribot, Eszter Salamon, Matthew Herbert, Gregor Schneider and many others.
In August were also performances to be seen of When the Mountain changed its clothing (Theaterfestival Basel) and Harry Partch: Delusion of the Fury (Edinburgh International Festival)- both enthusiastically recieved by audiences and press. During the "Happy Days" Beckett Festival 2014 in Enniskillen (Ireland) the Hilliard Ensemble performed - for the last time - part three of I went to the house but did not enter, based on Samuel Beckett's late novel Worstward Ho.
For September, October and November more performances of Surrogate Cities, Max Black, Stifters Dinge, Songs of Wars I have seen and When the Mountain changed its clothing in Europe and Australia can be checked at the calender.

Final night of Biennale Musiques en Scène in Lyon and Archipel Festival in Geneva
After numerous performances, concerts, lectures, screening by Heiner Goebbels the Biennale Musiques en Scène ended successfully in Lyon with a concert featuring Surrogate from Surrogate Cities performed by Catherine Jeauniaux (vocal) and Laura Mikkoli (piano) together with Orchestre Symphonique du CNSM conducted by Pascal Rophé, while the Festival Archipel in Geneva presented at the same night Chants des Guerres que j'ai vues - Songs of Wars I have seen and Harry Partch: Delusion of the Fury. The sound and video installation Genko-An 69006 was awarded with the Prix des Enfants de la Biennale Musiques en Scène, Lyon 2014, and is still to be seen and heard until April 20th in Musée d'Art Contemporain Lyon
Heiner Goebbels: artist invité at Lyon Biennale Musiques en scène 2014
From march 5th to march 29th a retrospective of many productions and compositions by Heiner Goebbels will be presented in and around Lyon: Max Black, Stifters Dinge, I went to the house but did not enter, a French version of Songs of Wars I have seen, Surrogate and Suite for Sampler and Orchestra of Surrogate Cities, and Genko-An 69006 - a video and sound installation specially developed for the MAC, Musée d'art contemporain de Lyon.
Ruhrtriennale 2014 - opening with Louis Andriessen: De Materie
In 2014 Heiner Goebbels will open the Festival on August 15th with the German Premiere of the music theatre by Dutch composer Louis Andriessen: De Materie - performed by the Ensemble Modern Orchestra conducted by Peter Rundel.
